As we all know, the sink is one of the most frequently used tools in kitchens. Known as the most cost-effective sink, stainless steel sinks are the preference of a large number of homeowners. Now I’d like to share several principles for choosing a stainless steel sink with your reference.
 
1. SUS 304 stainless steel, instead of SUS 201 stainless steel
SUS 304 stainless steel is better than SUS 201 stainless steel, which is likely to get rusty after a long time of contact with food. SUS 304 stainless steel is one kind that reaches FOOD GRADE. Besides, when choosing a SUS stainless steel sink, we also need to be careful to identify if it is genuine.
 
2. Matte brushed surface, instead of mirror surface
Matte brushed finished stainless steel sinks are resistant to stains, wear and dirt. However, stainless steel sinks of mirror surface are likely to be scratched. And water stains and fingerprints are more likely to be left on the mirror surface.
 
3. Thicker, instead of thinner
Compared with thin stainless steel sinks, thicker ones are more sturdy and durable. However, it’s not true that the thicker the better. 16G and 18G are thick enough.
 
4. Deeper, instead of shallower
Stainless steel sinks of deep bowls not only have larger capacity, but also prevent water splashing out. However, stainless steel sinks with over-shallow bowls are more likely to cause splashing water.
 
5. Sinks with silencing pad and anti-condensation coating
The anti-condensation coating is moisture-proof. Stainless steel sinks with anti-condensation coating will avoid damp and moldy cabinets.
 
Meanwhile, a silencing pad is quite essential for a stainless steel sink. It reduces noises occurs when the water splashes into the sink.
